RAIDS on a shop and nearby home in Burnley town centre - targeting the sale of 'legal highs' - has led to the arrest of two people.
Police say they swooped on unnamed premises in Parker Lane, on Friday afternoon, after concerns were raised about the sale of 'legal highs'.
Once inside officers, working with trading standards officials, are believed to have seized a 'large quantity' of suspicious substances and counterfeit clothing and shoes.
Police also raided a nearby residential property and recovered another batch of 'legal highs', some of which are said to have been found on an adjacent roof.
Pc Paul Marsden, who covers the town centre for Burnley's neighbourhood policing team, said the raids had been carried out after concerns were raised by a member of the public.
He added: "The police, our partner agencies and members of the public work hard to keep the town centre safe.
"We will not tolerate the selling and distribution of psycho-active substances which can cause significant harm."
Police have confirmed that a 32-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman were arrested, as a result of the inquiry, and currently on bail, pending further investigations.
