A FIRM is hoping to go down in history after signing an agreement with the Natural History Museum.

Ribchester-based Wallsauce.com is to turn exclusive dinosaur illustrations and museum photography into made-to-measure wall murals.

Among the collection made available to the company will be imagery dating back to the 1800s as well as photographs showcasing the iconic Hintze Hall that homed Dippy the dinosaur.

The agreement was originally made in an effort to expand Wallsauce.com’s murals targeted at the education sector.

The firm’s commercial director Colin Watson said: “We are absolutely delighted to be working with the Natural History Museum.

“This is one of the world’s truly iconic institutions and the imagery this licensing agreement gives us access to is awesome.”

Wallsauce.com, which is based in Ribchester Road, was founded in 2013 by Andrew Gerraty, Tony Fairhurst and Colin Watson.

In 2014 the firm signed a licensing deal with Warner Bros for exclusive image rights to some of the movie giant’s most iconic characters.

Since then it has offered bespoke wall coverings featuring popular comic book characters including DC Comic’s Batman and Superman.

The firm also has access to Harry Potter, Ron Weasely, Hermione Granger and Albus Dumbledore as well as images from Star Trek and The Hobbit.

A spokesman for the company added: “Wallsauce.com has quickly become one of the top UK sellers of made-to-measure wall murals exporting worldwide.

“The agreement was originally made in an effort to expand Wallsauce.com’s murals targeted at the education sector.

“With the Natural History Museum’s mission to encourage children to find their passion for the natural world, agreeing this license for Wallsauce.com felt natural.

“Having also seen the array of stunning photography featuring the museum’s impressive architecture, Wallsauce.com has further negotiated this imagery, creating a collection to appeal to a wider audience.”

Pieces from the 21-piece collection are available to buy from wallsauce.com.

Prices for the museum collection start from £30m/² and are available for print onto a variety of wallpapers including paste the wall and peel and stick.

The museum welcomes more than five million visitors a year.
