A HYNDBURN Leisure boss is set to take on the London Marathon to raise money for the charity.
Cultural services manager Kerry Smith is aiming to raise £3,000 by completing the run on Sunday, April 23.
The mother-of-two is based at Accrington Town Hall and helps organise event for The Ballroom.
Mrs Smith said: “In order for me to focus myself on keeping healthy I have to have a goal.
“This year my goal is to run the London Marathon for charity, for Hyndburn Leisure.
“I started off as a complete novice to exercise, I went from nothing to decide to run the London Marathon.
“This is a really exciting time for me and I hope that people will join me on my journey.”
She completed the marathon last year but was hampered by injury, so is looking to complete it in under four and a half hours this time.
The donations that she collects will be used to help community projects Hyndburn Leisure is involved in.
