A 31-YEAR-OLD man was charged with assault after pouring a glass of beer over his girlfriend during a row.
Blackburn magistrates heard Adam Heaton claimed he had been the victim of violence downstairs before following her to the bathroom and inflicting an unwanted shower.

Heaton, of Lilac Terrace, Mellor Brook, pleaded guilty to assaulting Jodie Hall.
He was given a conditional discharge for 12 months and ordered to pay £85 costs and £20 victim surcharge.
Eddie Harrison, prosecuting, said the row started over her speaking to another man in the pub earlier in the day.
"It escalated and there was violence downstairs although he did not assault her," said Mr Harrison. "He followed her to the bathroom where he poured beer over her head."
Mr Harrison said Miss Hall had not made a statement to the police.
Colleen Dickinson-Jones, defending, said the aggrieved had come to court to support her client and they intended to continue the relationship.
"Obviously it wasn't pleasant but there were no injuries," said Mrs Dickinson-Jones.
