PEOPLE who are looking to be volunteers for a major Darwen sporting event next month will be able to attend a planning meeting next week.
Chris Cash, chairman of Darwen Dashers Running Club, will be holding a meeting for those looking to help out at the town’s half-marathon on Saturday, March 18, at 11am.
The race is set to take place on Sunday, April 2.
The meeting will be upstairs in the Old Chapel and committee members will work out what roles are required on the day.
Volunteers are invited to have some input into their duties.
For those wishing to enter the run, which starts at Darwen Aldridge Community Academy, the cost is £20 which will include chipped timing, a t-shirt, a bottle of beer, a medal and some fruit. Proceeds will go to East Lancashire Hospice.
