FIRE crews cut a man free from his car after he was involved in a road accident this morning.
Police, paramedics and two fire crews from Nelson were sent to the crash close to the junction of Manchester Road and Lomeshaye Road in Nelson at around 10.50am.
The man was trapped inside one of the vehicles involved, a Vauxhall Astra.
A fire service spokesman said: "Officers used hydraulic cutting equipment to remove the roof of the Asta free the casualty."
The man, who was conscious, was transported to Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital for treatment and checks.
The accident caused minor traffic disruption in the area for around an hour.
The extent of any injuries casualty sustained is not known.
