FIREFIGHTERS were called out to reports a man in his 90s was trapped in a house fire in Barrowford.
The incident happened in Ingham Street, Barrowford, at around 1.05pm this afternoon.
Two fire engines from Nelson and one from Colne went to the scene but when they arrived it was discovered food cooking on the hob had set off a fire alarm.

The resident was not injured in the incident.
A fire service spokesman said: "We were called to Ingham Street, Barrowford, at around 1.05pm on October 31 to reports of a house fire with a person trapped inside. We sent three appliances to the scene - two from Nelson and one from Colne - but when they arrived they found there was no fire and it was a false alarm."
A police spokesman said: "We were called by the fire service to Ingham Street, Barrowford at around 1.10pm on October 31. It appears a man in his 90s was cooking food on the hob and it has set off a fire alarm."
