UNITED Utilities is investigating a water mains burst in Blackburn.
A resident of Pilmuir Road said that around 1pm a water pipe burst in the street, producing what he described as a "fountain."
He also stated that water pressure has dropped in houses on the street, but water is still available.
He said: "It’s quite a mess, it's not a pretty site at all.
“There’s just brown water running down the sides of the street, somebody needs to come and sort it out urgently.”
United Utilities has been notified of the incident by the resident and they have told him they are hoping to attend the scene before 10pm.
