A BOY in school uniform was seen walking at the side of a busy dual carriageway during rush hour traffic this morning.
Police said they had received several concerned calls at around 9.20am about the child, who was aged around 11 and dressed in school uniform, close the road on the A56 on the north bound side just before the Tesco turn off at Haslingden.
A Lancashire road police patrol attended and found the child close to a layby.
He had been assisted by a member of the public and officers ensured he was led to safety at around 9.30am.
