FIREFIGHTERS were called to junction five of the M65 after a car caught on fire.

At 2.10pm, two crews from Blackburn attended the slip road near Rishton after a small car was alight.

A fire service spokesman said: “The cause of the fire is unclear as it could have been a mechanical or electrical fault.

“No one was injured and no one was taken to hospital.”

A Highways England spokesman said the slip road is re-open after the earlier closure.
