AN East Lancashire author could see a huge windfall in film and TV rights for his new crime thriller, producers, actors and directors say.

Tony Flood, former sports editor of the Lancashire Telegraph who lived in Blackburn for many years, is best known for his book My Life with the Stars which includes revelations about Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra and other big names.

But now cinema stars believe he could taste even more success from his raunchy thriller Triple Tease, which Brian Capron, murderer Richard Hillman in Coronation Street, said was so good he wanted to play a part in it himself.

Mr Capron said: "Compassionate copper DCI Livermore would be a great character to bring to life on screen, with me playing him of course.

"Triple Tease is a riveting tale, brimful with thrilling twists and sensual sex.”

The story follows heroine Katrina who takes revenge for the assault on her sister and challenges DCI Livermore to ignore the rule book and offers to help him nail a serial killer by being the bait in a honey-trap.

She goes on a date with the main suspect and then there's another murder as the plot twists and turns to reach an 'unexpected climax'.

Mr Flood said: "Triple Tease is mainly a thriller. I have not included the sex scenes just to titillate, they are very important to the story and the characters in it.

“In order to capture the true flavour of murder suspects who come into contact with lap dancers and the nightclub scene, or belong to a dating agency, it is necessary to describe some of the things they get up to.”

Mr Flood has received glowing endorsements from best selling authors Peter James and Tamara McKinley in the past.

Mr James said: “Talented former journalist Tony Flood makes an exciting entry into the world of crime writing by treating thriller fans to a triple tease.”

Tamara McKinley, author of Echoes From Afar and the Beach View Boarding House series, said: “Tony Flood writes with the spare authority of his journalist background and Triple Tease promises enough twists, turns and sex to satisfy thriller readers.”
