OFFICERS were called to a school in Burnley after being told there was a man outside with a gun.
The incident happened at St Mary Magdalene’s RC Primary in Wellfield Drive at around 8.20am yesterday as children, parents and staff were arriving.

Officers were sent to the scene but when they arrived they found a resident across the road trying to shoot a squirrel down from his loft with an airgun.
A police spokesman confirmed that armed officers were not sent to the scene.
The spokesman said: “We received a call at 8.20am on April 11 that a man had been seen with a gun near to a school in Wellfield Drive in Burnley.
"Officers attended and they found the man on his own property with an airgun trying to shoot a squirrel down from his loft.
"The man has been spoken to by officers and given advice. No further action is being taken.
"The incident did cause some panic and upset at the school.”
