Assault denied
JAMES Michael Leech, 20, of Lion Street, Church, denied racially aggravated assault on Zahid Hussain and chose trial at Burnley Crown Court when he appeared before Blackburn magistrates.
Man denies threats
JOSH Liam Fenton, 18, of Moor Close, Darwen, was remanded on bail by Blackburn magistrates after pleading not guilty to using threatening behaviour.
Man accused of wounding
NATHAN James Bowen, 23, of Finch’s Square, Cardigan, Wales, elected to be tried at Preston Crown Court when he appeared before Blackburn magistrates and pleaded not guilty to wounding Mitchel Lucas, causing him grievous bodily harm. He was remanded on bail to appear at the crown court on June 6.
Cannabis charge
JOHN O’Brien, 40, of Paddock Street, Oswaldtwistle, was remanded on bail by Blackburn magistrates charged with permitting the production of cannabis on his premises.
Man bailed
ZAHOOR Alam, 36, of Willows Lane, Accrington, was remanded on bail by Blackburn magistrates charged with assaulting Aqeeb Ali.
Drugs man fined
A MAN arrested for possessing amphetamine in a Clitheroe pub told police he could buy it off any taxi driver.
Neil Howard, 40, of Hargreaves Street, Colne, pleaded guilty to possessing amphetamine. He was fined £80, with £30 victim surcharge and a further £40 for being in breach of a conditional discharge imposed in February also for possessing controlled drugs.
