WEST Ham United midfielder Mark Noble has picked former Blackburn Rovers hero Tugay in his line-up of the best players he has faced.

Noble, who is set to captain the Hammers against Rovers in Sunday’s FA Cup fifth-round tie at Ewood Park, selected the Turkish star alongside the likes of Wayne Rooney and Luka Modric.

Noble said of selecting Tugay: “When I was a young kid I played against Blackburn, and he taught me an absolute lesson in how to play midfield.

“I was young and arrogant and I thought, 'oh he's got grey hair, I'm going to get in and around him', and he had me on a bit of string for 90 minutes. I'll always tell people about that.

“Obviously I love Steven Gerrard and I think Frank Lampard is one of the best goal-scoring midfielders the country has ever seen, but I'll have to go with Tugay.”

Noble was picking his XI as part of Sky Sports’ Fantasy Football Club.

Noble’s full XI: Petr Cech, Gary Neville, Laurent Koscielny, Rio Ferdinand, Leighton Baines; Tugay, Luka Modric, Paul Scholes; Didier Drogba, Wayne Rooney, Fernando Torres.
