A WOMAN’S knee cap was shattered after being hit by a car in Blackburn.
The woman was crossing Greenhead Avenue at the junction with Fountains Avenue with her teenage daughter, when she was hit by a silver Volvo.

She was taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital where it was shown her kneecap was shattered in three places.
Police are appealing for the male driver of the car, who stopped at the scene and offered his details but was told they were not required, to come forward.
PC Emma Lougheed, of Blackburn Police, said: “The woman who had been struck was in shock and did not realise the extent of her injuries at the time.”
The incident happened some time between 5.30pm and 5.45pm on December 3.
l The driver, or anybody with information, is asked to contact police on 101.
