A PENSIONER who was hit by a car while crossing a road in Blackburn has died.
Pedestrian Dennis Whittaker, 82, suffered a serious head injury, broken ankle and broken pelvis following the collision, which happened outside the Capita office at the junction of Preston New Road and Barbara Castle Way, at 10am on Monday, January 25.

Mr Whittaker, who is from Blackburn, was taken to Royal Preston Hospital for surgery where he remained in a serious condition for two weeks - but police confirmed that he died last night.
A 25-year-old Blackburn man, who was arrested at the scene on suspicion of driving a motor vehicle dangerously, has been released on bail until March 14.
Anyone with information about the collision is asked to call police on 101 quoting log reference 0346 of January 25.
