Students from White Ash School, Oswaldtwistle, enjoyed a day at the racetrack when the 16 to 19 year olds took part in the British School of Motoring "Ignition" scheme.
It gives young drivers their first chance to get behind the wheel in a safe environment alongside an instructor.
The seven teenagers travelled with staff to the Three Sisters racetrack in Ashton for the day.
Roger Beckingham, head of the 16 to 19 year old unit at White Ash, which offers provision for people with severe and profound multiple learning difficulties, said: "It was a really successful trip, and one or two of the students are now applying for provisional licences."
