FIREFIGHTERS had to rescue two people from locked bedrooms in the same night.
At midnight a crew was called to Livingstone Road, Blackburn, after an eight-year-old boy got locked in his bedroom.
A crew spokesman said the boy had been playing with the lock and it had jammed. His parents alerted emergency services when they could not get in.
The spokesman said: "We used ladders to get in through the window, and then unlocked the door to his parents. The little lad slept through the whole thing!"
At 5.30am the same morning, the crew turned out to a house in Rothesay Road, Shadsworth, Blackburn, after the male occupant called for help.
The spokesman said: "The man had broken off the inside door handle of his bedroom when he closed it the night before, and had not been able to get out.
"We passed some tools to him through the window and he managed to open it."
