A BOOK illustrator has been selected as one of five finalists for ‘unique blogger of the year’.

Emmeline Pidgen, 27, from Buckshaw Village, creates books, advertising, graphic narrative and editorial illustration from her small studio.

She was chosen by judges out of hundreds of entries in the Bloggers Lounge Awards for her ‘Emmeline Illustration’ blog.

The blog focuses on Emmeline’s work as an illustrator, inspiration, events, travel and articles on the creative industry.

On her blog, Emmeline’s worked with and reviewed the likes of Boden, Fentimans, Clarks, Laura Ashley, The Design Week Awards, Ohh Deer and Cath Kidston.

She also won Best Arts & Culture Blog in the Blog North Awards last year.

Since graduating from Falmouth University in 2010, Emmeline has illustrated seven published picture books, has exhibited internationally, as well as running creative workshops.

She has also supported a range of charities and worked for clients including Tesco, Egmont Publishing and Serco.

Emmeline said: “I’ve been working incredibly hard on my blog over the last few years, and to receive such tremendous feedback and support is heart-warming.”

The winners in each awards category are selected via public vote with voting open until December 24.

The winners will be officially announced at an awards ceremony in London in January.

The Bloggers Lounge was set up to help bloggers grow their following and collaborate with brands.
