RECYCLING in Blackburn and Darwen is up by 3.6per cent on last year, according to latest council figures.
The council said 30 per cent of household waste was recycled between January and April this year.
And for the full year, it means that 27.6 per cent of waste was recycled, compared with 24 per cent during the same 12 month period in 2005/06.
The government has set a target of 35 per cent of UK waste to be recycled by 2010.
