A 30-YEAR-OLD woman who admitted shoplifting to finance her drug addiction has been jailed for eight weeks.
Blackburn magistrates heard the latest offence involved Kerry Louise Murphy stealing sports socks worth £300 from Sports Direct and selling them to a market trader.

Murphy, of Spring Street, Accrington, pleaded guilty to five charges of shoplifting and one of theft. As well as the custodial sentence she was ordered to pay £180 criminal court charge and £80 victim surcharge on her release.
Catherine Allan, prosecuting, said the theft offence had involved Murphy sneaking behind the bar at the Railway pub in Accrington and stealing a mobile phone and purse belonging to a barmaid. The offence was caught on CCTV.
Gareth Price, defending, said his client was a clear example of the damage a drug addiction can do.
