GAS consumption at the church is down in the first quarter of the year by 18 per cent compared with the same period last year.
Nick Aves, Treasurer to the Parochial Church Council, reported that following Gordon Brown's cut in the basic rate of income tax around £600 less will be reclaimable through Gift Aid from April 2008.
Parishioners will be paying £600 less in tax in total and it is hoped that they will increase their contribution to the church accordingly.
