The Rev Irene Greenman conducted the funeral service of Cornholme ward councillor Sandra Twigg.
Miss Twigg, who died in Burnley General Hospital aged 58, served on Todmorden Town council for four years.
She lived at Bobbin Mill Close, Cornholme, and was a Liberal Democrat councillor.
Among mourners at the packed Vale Baptist Church, which she attended regularly, was the Mayor of Todmorden Coun Brian Hewson.
