A LOCAL councillor has been appointed to one of the most influential groups in the country to tackle environmental issues.
Coun Peter Britcliffe, leader of Hyndburn Council, will take up his position on the national "Environment Board" which is run by the Local Government Association.
The main concerns for the board are climate change and how local government can take a lead in reducing carbon emissions
