BUDDING film makers are invited to enter the first ever Bacup Film Festival.

The event aims to showcase short films by emerging independent film makers from the UK, in association with the North West Academy of Arts.

Short films and documentaries are welcome, including experimental film, animation and fiction.

Short films and animations can be up to 15 minutes long, and documentaries up to 25 minutes, shot on any format.

The deadline for entries is August 24, with an entry fee of £5. Visit www.bacupfilmfestival.co.uk to download an entry form and for more details.

All submissions must be initially sent on DVD, with entries chosen for screening to be sent by mini DVD. Send your DVD and entry form, plus a cheque or postal order for £5 made payable to Bacup Film Festival to 1a Market Street, Bacup, Rossendale, OL13 8EX.

The festival will take place from October 25 to 27.
