A BIGGER phone mast to replace one already on farmland in Brierfield has been refused planning permission again.
The proposal for the 22-metre mast at Folly Hall Farm, King's Causeway, was sent to Pendle Council's development control committee after the Brierfield and Reedley Committee was deemed to have gone against council policy when it blocked the mast.
But the councillors' decision was upheld, with members saying that the existing 12-metre mast already dominated the area, and a bigger one would mean an "eyesore" visible from all over the area.
Residents also spoke about health fears related to masts, including new studies suggesting higher instances of cancer in those living near them.
