A WOMAN was treated for smoke inhalation after her cooker set on fire.

Two pumps from Burnley were called to the property in Williams Road shortly before 3pm yesterday after flames came out of the cooker.

A crew spokesperson said: "The occupant had been cooking dinner and some fat dropped down into the bottom of the oven, and set alight.

"We used two breathing apparatus and a hose reel to put out the flames, and then disconnected the cooker which was severely damaged.

"We administered oxygen therapy to the woman as she had inhaled some smoke when attempting to put out the fire."

Four other rooms in the house were left smoke damaged.
