A NOTABLE collection of 20th century ceramics is on display at Towneley Hall.
The 300-piece porcelain collection has been donated to the hall by the the wife of the former Bishop of Burnley, Ronald James Milner. Mr. Milner served as Bishop from 1988-1993.
The collection includes Shelley, Clarice Cliff and Susie Cooper tableware dating from the 1920s to the 1970s, with many of the items collected over the years from stalls on Burnley Market.
The collection was passed to Towneley Hall via the Art Fund (previously the National Art Collection Fund).
Since arriving at the hall, the collection has been photographed and catalogued.
Roger Frost, Burnley Council's Executive member for Leisure, said: "This is an excellent collection of ceramics and we are very fortunate to have it at Towneley."
