A FATHER who attacked his wife in front of their teenage daughter told a court he wished he could turn the clock back.
Burnley magistrates heard how drunken Ian Turner, 47, hit his partner of 20 years in the mouth in their room and then did it again in his daughter's bedroom.
Turner said: "It happened and it won't happen again."
The defendant told the court he and his wife Angela were now back together again, there was no animosity between them Turner, of Mayfield Avenue, Haslingden, admitted assault by beating, on March 31.
The defendant, who was of previous good character, was given a two-year conditional discharge.
Bill Maude, prosecuting, told the court the couple had been to Mrs Turner's brother's 60th birthday party and the defendant then went into Haslingden while his wife stayed with her sisters Turner later appeared.
The victim said she didn't want to talk but Turner was volatile.
Mr Maude said he back-handed" her forcibly in the mouth. Mrs Turner went into her daughter's room but he followed and hit her again.
