AN investigation is underway in Burnley after an outhouse at a terraced home is thought to have been deliberately torched.
Fire crews were called out to the blaze, at a property in Wynotham Street, off Briercliffe Road, at around teatime yesterday.
Breathing equipment and a hosereel jet were used to tackle the fire, with an extension ladder being used to ensure the blaze was successfully tackled.
A Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "The outbuilding of the terraced property appeared to have been deliberately set on fire. There were no casualties and the police have been notified of the suspected arson."
If anyone noticed anything suspicious in the area they can notify Crimestoppers in confidence on 0800 555 111.
