ROSSENDALE Players' fifth production of the season will be Arthur Miller's compelling drama All My Sons, which will be staged next May.

There will be reading of the play, directed by Stanley Whittaker, tonight with a casting night on Tuesday, September 8 at 7.30 in the New Millennium Theatre.

All My Sons was Miller’s first success on Broadway in 1947 and has been filmed and staged many times since then. The most recent London production was led by David Suchet and Zoe Wanamaker in 2011.

Set in 1947 in middle America it concerns the Keller family whose son, Larry a pilot in WW2 , was lost in action in the Far East.

Factory owner, Joe Keller, survived a charge of supplying faulty aircraft parts causing the deaths of 21 pilots, but his business partner, Steve, was sent to prison for his part in the work. Joe is still hiding his guilt while his wife, Kate, refuses to believe that Larry is dead and will soon return home to marry his girlfriend, Anne.

The Keller’s other son, Chris, proposes to Anne who has accepted the loss of Larry and is ready to accept, but Kate, sharing Joe’s secret guilt, refuses to agree until startling news from the prison allows Anne to reveal what she knows to be the truth behind the court case and Larry’s actual death.

Casting is open to all and prospective newcomers will be welcome to the reading or audition.
