EVERYBODY loves a good rom-com, and Pendle Hippodrome's version of The Wedding Singer - with professional singer Josh Hindle in the leading role - will be a show with a difference.

Josh, a regular act at East Lancashire weddings, takes on the role of Robbie Hart in the society's musical next month at the theatre on New Market Street, Colne.

The all-singing, all-dancing show, tells the story of a hapless singer, with a heart of gold, whose dearest wish is to marry his fiancé Linda. She, however, has other plans. But with all good romances, Robbie finds love right under his nose in the form of Julia, a waitress also chasing love, although the course of romance never runs smoothly.

Josh plays alongside some of the theatre company's top talent, Jade Brett. Laura Schofield takes on the role of Linda and Cathryn Osborne will play Holly. Sam Crabtree plays Glen, and Rosie, Robbie’s grandma, will be played by Angela Schofield.

The show features a feast of original songs. There are hilarious one-liners with cracking choreography, high octane dance routines and vivid costumes all thrown in to make a terrific show.

The Wedding Singer is a thoroughly enjoyable show packed with the sort of fun that the decade which invented shoulder pads would be proud of. It is directed by Steve Grist with Lisa Manley once more wielding the music baton. Vicky Royle has set the energetic dance routines.

The show takes place at Pendle Hippodrome onTuesday, September 22-26 at 7.30pm with a Saturday Matinee performance at 2pm.
