FOUR-time world superbike champion and I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here winner Carl Fogarty delighted young patients and staff on a visit to an East Lancashire children’s hospice.

The ‘king of the jungle’ spent hours chatting and posing for pictures with children being cared for at Derian House in Chorley.

As part of the Foggy and Whit: The King and I, hit chat show, which visits Preston in September, Fogarty and his good friend and former British champion James Whitham have committed to raise funds for the hospice.

Frank Livesey, a Derian at Home nurse, said: “It was an absolute honour to show Carl around and introduce him to the children and families that we help.

“I’ve never met a more genuine, down to earth person and he took a real interest in the work that we do.”

Carl said: “The people behind Derian House do some amazing work and we couldn’t think of a better cause to get involved with.”
