RAIDERS have struck at an Earby garage taking six cars and equipment worth £60,000.

The thefts took place at Bailey’s Garage on Colne Road between 4am and 5am on Sunday, August 2.

A 24-year-old Burnley man arrested in Burnley, a 20-year-old Burnley man arrested in Accrington and a 17-year-old man arrested in Accrington were quizzed by officers in connection with the incident, but have since been released without charge pending ‘further and lengthy police enquiries’.

Police have recovered two of the vehicles – a red Jeep Renegade worth £21,000 in Burnley and a silver Vauxhall Astra valued at £4,000 in Colne – but the others four are yet to be found.

They are a black Vauxhall Mokka registration “A13 BGK” valued at £17,000, a black Ford Focus registration “MW07 PNF” values at £4,000, a silver Vauxhall Corsa registration KF07 DFO, which is valued at £3,000 and a blue Vauxhall Astra registration YR56 BZA, also valued at £3,000.

Mechanics tools and diagnostic equipment valued at £7,000, a £1,000 registration plate press and two £350 laptops were also taken. The raiders also escaped with CCTV recording equipment.

Police believe the vehicles may have been stolen in two trips and equipment loaded into the back of them.

Sgt Tim Hitchen said: “If anybody has any information about this incident I would urge them to call police via 101, quoting log reference number 0367 of 2 August 2015.

“If anybody does see any of these vehicles or they have any information they should ring up as a matter of emergency.”
