HOLDEN2URHATS is back. After its award-winning production of Party in 2013, it's back with a production of The Kitchen Sink by Tom Wells.

It's an irresistibly funny and tender play about big dreams and small changes. It follows the lives of a little family from Withernsea over the course of one year. Things are not going to plan. Pieces are falling off Martin's milk float as quickly as he's losing customers and something's up with Kath's kitchen sink. Billy is pinning his hopes of a place at art college in London on a revealing portrait of Dolly Parton, whilst Sophie's dreams of becoming a Jiu-Jitsu teacher might be disappearing down the plug hole. And amid the dreaming, dramas and dirty dishes, something has to give. But will it be Kath or the kitchen sink?

The Kitchen Sink premiered in November 2011 at the Bush Theatre in London. The Telegraph gave it five stars and said, “This is one of the best new plays I have seen anywhere this year, and I cannot recommend it too highly”.

Katie Holden, the Founder and Director of Holden2UrHats Theatre Company is directing the play. She started Holden2UrHats when she was just 18. She is now 23 and will be going into her second year of her degree studies at university. This will be her fourth production.

She says, “I have had my visions of The Kitchen Sink going on stage for almost two years now. I had some casting issues but I’ve finally got a fantastic and dedicated cast who are just brilliant. We’ve been in rehearsals for a few weeks and they’re so much fun. Everyone is enjoying themselves. I haven’t put anything on since 2013, it’s been a crazy couple of years and I’ve missed directing so much. I hope previous audiences that have been to see a Holden2UrHats production can remember the magic we bring to the stage. The Kitchen Sink will make you laugh and cry. You will fall in love with this little family in this little kitchen”.

The Kitchen Sink will be performed at the ACE Centre in Nelson on Friday September 11 and 12. Please note The Kitchen Sink features adult language. Tickets: 01282 661080 or www.acecentre.co.uk.
