TINA Fox School of Dance in Accrington marked the school’s 15th anniversary with a performing arts extravaganza at Oswaldtwistle Civic Theatre.

An audience of more than 200 watched the dazzling performance from 80 students aged between three and 35 years old.

School Principal Tina wowed the audience with a medley of the first five dance routines she ever taught in her classes, including Britney Spears’ Hit Me Baby One More Time and Madonna’s Vogue.

Teachers Razia Mahmood and Victoria Lundy, of Accrington and Rising Bridge, also performed for the children.

“The students raised enough money to purchase a set of wireless microphones, speakers and sound recording equipment for producing music videos to make their next dancing show at Christmas literally all singing, all dancing,” said the Principal.

Tina opened her classes, originally called Tina Fox Dance Workshops, in Haslingden in April 2000. She was just 17 and pursuing a career in professional competitive Latin American dancing, which saw her placed 2nd in the United Kingdom Closed Professional Latin American championships in 2007. She has danced around the world on the QE2 cruise ship.

Over the years she has taught several thousand children from Rossendale. The school moved to bigger premises in Hyndburn just under five years ago.

Tina has been nominated four times for the prestigious Carl Alan Award, dubbed the Oscars of the dance world, for her services to the dance and theatre industry as a freestyle dancing teacher. Most recently, she made it to the top three teachers in the country and remains dedicated to producing the very best standards for her students and teachers alike.

New classes in street dance, contemporary, singing, disco, ballroom and Latin American have started for the Christmas show and dance gradings. Call 07917878790 to book a place.
