A WOMAN who described her partner as "a nasty piece of work" when in drink told him through the cat flap that she didn't want him in the property after an all day drinking session.

Hyndburn magistrates heard that Stuart Taylor and his partner had played cat and mouse all day with her leaving by the back door whenever he came in through the front door.

But in the end she locked him out before going to her sister-in-law's to spend the night, resulting in him smashing a window and badly cutting both his arms in the process.

Taylor, 40, of Bolton Road, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to criminal damage. He was fined £100 and ordered to pay £200 compensation and £75 costs.

Philippa White, prosecuting, said Catherine Parkinson always tried to leave the house when Taylor returned in drink because he could be nasty.

On the day of this incident he had gone to a friend's house at 11.15am for a drinking session.

When he returned for the second time and was told she didn't want him in the house Taylor became very angry and started kicking on the front door.

Miss Parkinson called the police before leaving the house.

Alfred Rebello, defending, said: "He has been forbidden from having any contact with her by bail conditions but he has been told by a mutual friend that she wants him back as soon as these proceedings are concluded."
