ROSSENDALE Council has handed out 10,000 compost bins to homes in the Valley which have a garden.
The news comes after the council announced more than 28 per cent of all waste collected was recycled.
Sean Spencer, client services manager for the council, said: "The amount of recycling that households are doing is growing year-on-year but we want to increase this amount even further."
