A 45-YEAR-OLD man who discharged himself from hospital against medical advice was found collapsed later the same day and subsequently died.
An inquest heard that Ernest Christopher Emmott, of Blackburn Road, Accrington, had undergone surgery for internal bleeding after falling from an upstairs room at his home on November 8.
He remained in Royal Blackburn Hospital until March 7 when he discharged himself.
The inquest heard later that day he was found collapsed in Colne and rushed to Burnley General Hospital where he died on Friday April 13.
A post-mortem examination found the cause of death was multiple organ failure and sepsis due to multiple injuries.
The inquest was adjourned until July 4.
