DON'T let thieves spoil your summer - secure your shed.
That's the message from police in Rossendale who are urging green fingered residents and keen DIY-ers to make sure that their sheds, garages and outbuildings are secure following a spate of break-ins.
Crime Prevention Officer PC Phil Buck said: "Thieves know that people will be visiting DIY stores and garden centres and buying new tools and gardening equipment so it is important that local residents make sure these items are stored securely.
"With this in mind, we're urging people with sheds, garages and outbuildings, to spare a thought for security."
PC Buck said: "There are a number of other very quick and easy things people can do to help prevent theft.
"To find out more, simply drop into your local police station and pick up a free copy of our shed security leaflet."
