TWO Darwen women are taking a 10,000ft plunge for charity on Sunday.
Lindsay Reed, 28, a hairdresser at Revive in Duckworth Street, and Denise Gee, 39, a trader at Darwen three-day market, will leap from an aero-plane in Flookburgh, Cumbria, to raise cash for the Five Stars Appeal.
The fund aims to help buy a £1million MRI scanner for the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital.
Darwen Shop and Business Association began helping the Five Stars Appeal after hearing about Madison Allan's battle with a tumour.
Two-year-old Madison, from Lower Darwen, was diagnosed with a large tumour on her back at 10 months old. She is being treated by the hospital.
Denise said she was nervous but determined to achieve an ambition while raising money.
"There's a team of us raising money for the Five Stars Appeal," she said.
"I'm 40 this year and the parachute jump is something I wanted to do before I'm 40."
Denise has raised almost £400 and Lindsay around £550.
Madison's dad Mark Allen will also be doing the jump despite a fear of heights.
