WHAT a relief to be looking at the bottom teams and not worrying about getting embroiled in an end-of-season relegation dogfight.

Leeds have pulled off some excellent results at Elland Road in recent weeks so it was typical of their current form that they should end Burnley's recent good run.

It wasn't enough to lift them out of the bottom three, with Barnsley winning at fellow strugglers Southend - a result that surprised me with the Tykes making a long journey, and Hull earning a point at home to Colchester.

I backed Leeds for a long time to get out of it, and they still might, but nothing is cut and dried down there.

With Hull being a former club of mine I hope they survive too. Leicester, meanwhile, are far from out of it. Bringing in a new manager hasn't had the immediate desired effect they would have hoped for, and with the timing of it now Rob Kelly might as well have seen it through.

Fortunately, relegation is something we no longer have to worry about after last night's 3-0 win over Norwich, but the burning issue is why it was in the first place?

I still can't believe the season we've had after looking like real play-off material, oozing confidence and beating everyone.

For me, the players have to look at themselves. How many can say they've achieved their personal targets?

I'm talking as a striker, but midfielders should have targets too when it comes to goals.

Defensively we've done okay, but a top scorer with 11? Not good enough.

l Burnley bid a final farewell to Brian Miller yesterday.

The great man wasn't at the club when I was involved with the Clarets, but I would often see him in the bookies and we would chat about the last game.

You'll never get anyone again who had so much influence on one club.

He did every job at Burnley and was also a great player. He was the equivalent of John Terry, because Burnley, at that time, were like Chelsea now.
