A CASINO night with a gangster theme at Turf Moor had some arresting sights!

The evening organised by Burnley accountant John Fallows and his daughter Lauren was part of their Burnley v Cancer appeal.

Around 300 people including the Mayor and Mayoress of Burnley, Cllr Elizabeth Monk and Brenda Lambert, enjoyed playing roulette and black jack and raised £5,500.

John Riding was MC and the 10-piece Soul Convicts had the guests dancing after the gambling tables had closed.

Mr Fallows said: “Half of the money raised will go to the Gail Simpson Memorial Fund for Pendleside Hospice and the other half will be shared between other cancer charities.”
