FOUR men were arrested in East Lancashire after being spotted by police helicopter.

The force’s unit was scrambled at 12.30am on Friday after noises were heard coming from a building site off Horrocks Fold, Turton, near Chorley.

Anthony Ford, Watch Liaison Officer East Lancashire, said: “The location was attended by immediate response officers, a dog handler, the target team, special constables and The National Police Air Service.

“Two men were disturbed interfering with a vehicle on Broadhead Road. They ran off into a nearby farm yard. One was arrested the other fled into the fields but was found and arrested. Two more men were ‘flushed out’ of undergrowth and arrested.”

Yesterday they were being questioned at Greenbank Police Station, Blackburn.
