A SPECIAL junior football match took place earlier this month with the aim of promoting friendship between two communities.
The match took place on Sunday, June 14 at Mellor Football ground with a friendly football match between Mellor Juniors FC v FC Face, both under-11 teams.
Mellor coach, Jason Walker, said: "The aim of bringing the two teams together was to help tackle racism within football, breakdown barriers and build communities.
"The match was excellent performance from both teams and played in a brilliant spirit."
Mellor Juniors FC under 11s are still looking for new players to join.
Training Wednesdays 6.30pm - 8pm at Mellor Ground.
The club are looking to welcome new players and returning players
to expand their under 11’s squad going forward into the 2015/16 season in the Elfa Sunday league.
