AN 85-year-old man has been sent for Crown Court trial accused of attempting to murder a man near Bacup last summer.
Vincent Simpson was bailed by Pennine magistrates to appear at Burnley Crown Court on July 6, charged with the attempted murder of Norman Harrison at Shawforth on August 27.
Simpson, of The Old Manse, Pendeen, Cornwall, is accused of hitting Mr Harrison with a car near garages on Old Lane, causing serious leg injuries.
