A PEDIGREE puppy went missing and is believed to have been stolen from outside a home in Tockholes.

The disappearance of six-month-old King Charles spaniel Paris sparked a frantic search by her owners that has so far proved futile.

Despite an extensive search of the area, posters being put up across the village and a social media campaign, Paris remains missing.

Her devastated owner, Anne Gresty, has now appealed for the public’s help in tracking her down, and has offered a £300 reward.

The 50-year-old, who lives in Tockholes Road with her partner Andrew Leaver and 20-year-old daughter Abigail Gresty, said: “Paris had escaped out the back garden and she went round the front.

“In a matter of minutes she was gone. I think somebody has picked her up.

“We have asked around and there was no news, and nobody saw anything.”

Anne said the incident, at around 5.30pm on Wednesday, April 15, was the first time Paris had managed to escape since they bought her at eight-weeks-old.

She said the community in Tockholes Road was so close-knit that if somebody found Paris and had knocked on any door in the street, they would have been told exactly whose dog she was.

“We just can’t believe that nobody has even knocked on the front door.

“It’s a small enough street,” she said.

Paris is microchipped but was not wearing a collar when she went missing, Anne added.

She was described as black with brown paws, eyebrows, cheeks, and lower ears.
