AN investigation has been launched following a suspected arson attack at Panama Sport Horses in Gisburn early this morning.

Firefighters from Barnoldswick, Nelson, and Clitheroe were called to the Park Road firm at around 1.40am.

There they found three cars and an office block alight and spent the next three hours tackling the blaze using hose reels, a jet, breathing apparatus and around 45 litres of foam.

No horses or staff at the company, which supplied horses for the 2012 Olympic Games Modern Pentathlon, were hurt.

A joint probe between detectives at Lancashire Police and investigators from Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service is now underway.
