POLICE on duty in Darwen town centre at 1.35pm found a drunken man standing in the middle of the road shouting and swearing.

Philip Wiggins, 51, of Birchall Avenue, pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly in Market Street.
He was given a conditional discharge for six months and ordered to pay £100 costs.
