A PROPOSAL to build 10 homes in Chatburn is set to be voted on next week.
Ribble Valley Borough Council's planning and development committee will vote whether or not to approve the scheme for land off Chatburn Old Road.
The meeting will be held in the town hall in Church Street, Clitheroe, from 6.30pm on Thursday, April 16.
Eight letters of objection have been sent to the council that include concerns over highways, the impact on wildlife and the potential sterilisation of the mineral reserve.
Chatburn Parish Council has told the borough council that it cannot identify the need for the houses and has raised the issue of the lack of affordable housing in the area.
Lancashire County Council has requested that the developer makes a contribution of £36,253 towards providing secondary school places in the area.
